HOLA QUERIA PREGUNTAR EN QUE EMULADOR ES COMPATIBLE SUPER MARIO MIN

(+1)

Nothing cooler than games you can easily take with you nowadays. Threw this on my Miyoo Mini and been adoring the heck out of it, from the fantastic demake-charm to the awesome originality in 2nd Quest. Thank you so much for such a little masterpiece.

(+1)

I played through this twice on my Analogue Pocket and DAMN what an epic game. I loved SMB Deluxe on my GBC when I was young and I love your SMBM with all the fan service after world 8-4. Holy cow, I hope you can squeeze even more content into it or do a successor with that engine to have even more levels.

Game Boy game of the year for me. Easy!

Can someone help me fix a bug where everything is invisible

peak rom

This is one of my favorite demakes, it's so well made. Is there any chance you can make a version I can download and play it on PC (Without needing an emulator).

Hi! This game is made for GBC (it looks very bad in my GB). I think you should change the extension from .gb to .gbc to better represent that. Other than that, thanks so much for the effort!

Quite impressive. Few adjustments, and it's a masterpiece!

Nice work, impressive.

The only thing this game needs is to adjust the speed and momentum physics to match the original Super Mario Bros, as I notice that when you jump and brake in mid-air, Mario stops almost immediately and backs up, which feels kind of odd. Hopefully this can be updated at some point. What a great game.

(1 edit)

dude.... i just searched for my emulator, and this was updated 40 minutes ago

(+1)

how do you jump?

Sorry, I added the controls in the description

(+1)

nah, it fine:)

So looking forwrd to playing it!!

Is there a Discord server for devs?

If you have bugs to report you can post them on the game's github,
Otherwise there is the GBStudio discord server where i have a thread for the game there, you can post comments/suggestions there.

To me, the gameplay doesn't seem very polished. For example, the mushrooms are too fast. While in the original they only come out of the block for about a second, here they "run" immediately. This has some consequences in the gameplay that make the game much more difficult. For example in the levels without solid ground. Or the 1Up mushroom in level 1-2, which you can no longer get on the ground.

The behavior of the fire flower also irritates me. The fireballs don't hit the ground immediately, but make an arc first. This makes it much harder to hit the piranha plants.

I also found a bug with the Koopas. In 1-2, the shells get blocked at the edge of the screen instead of moving on when I kick them away.

YOU FORGOT THE MONOCHROME LOCKDOWN SCREEN!

I tried to use super mario bros deluxe and i tried the original gameboy and there's a lockdown screen that says this game pak will work only with the gameboy color videogame system.

so use the lockdown screen for the original gameboy OK?

when i first saw this i was impressed, but then i find out you made this in GB studio??!?!? massive, and i mean it, MASSIVE props to you (and your team if you didn't do this all alone ofc) now make SMB2 USA Mini  what i mean what who said that

(-5)

great game

i love it u can try my game too its fun jst try it https://green-haert-studios.itch.io/arrow-in-the-space

Suggestion: coins to powerups like in SMB35 for randomized mode

A rotten/poison mushroom would be awesome for some places in the second quest, to spice things up

(+1)

Thank you for this, here is my tribute...

(+1)

Great work! - so is there a .pocket file too?

I added a Pocket build

Thank you - excellent :)

(1 edit) (+1)(-2)

Physics are weird. Other than that, pretty cool.

(+1)

An incredible port as in this is pretty similar to Super Mario Land but it's Super Mario Bros. while also being its own thing.

I bet at somepoint you'll also do the same to Lost Levels.

(+2)

beautiful work

I can't figure out how to get past 10-4! Anyone got an answer?

I dont want to spoil it, but I can give a hint: look at the hieroglyphics

(+1)

Thanks, with this you surely won heaven. Now we wait for the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2 😁

(+1)

I really love that its SMB1 but in sprite proportions of Super Mario Land 1 and with an added 2nd quest & a randomizer mode ♡

(+1)

Amazing

(1 edit) (+2)(-1)

The game literally had an heart attack when I rewind the game through emulator. I thought it was hilarious anti-cheat method. Lmao

(+3)

MY DUDE. THIS WAS REALLY GOOD UNTIL THERE WAS AN ENTIRE ACTUAL SECOND QUEST WITH NEW LEVELS USING OLD AND NEW MECHANICS IN INTERESTING WAYS. THIS IS FANTASTIC

With a couple physics tweaks this could be the best version of the game hands down

what are the controls on pc? i cant figure it out

A/D = Left/Right. Ctrl = Run. J = Jump

these are the configured controls:
{"up":["ArrowUp","w"],"down":["ArrowDown","s"],"left":["ArrowLeft","a"],"right":["ArrowRight","d"],"a":["Alt","z","j"],"b":["Control","k","x"],"start":["Enter"],"select":["Shift"]}

(+2)

Absolutely amazing work. The whole extra stageset and random on top is stunning. Sadly Nintendo is likely to freakout about this fangame, since they do all the really good ones.

Aside from some slight timing issues, its spot on.

(+1)

Super Mario Bros. with the Super Mario Land 1 sprite proportions.

(+3)

its finally done huh, kudos man, youre amazing

(2 edits) (+2)

Amazing!

Aside from some slight differences from the original version (which I think are pretty common), there are a few glitches, but they don't affect the overall gameplay:

ALL: Mushrooms and flowers appear so fast that it's difficult to break the brick next to it immediately after hitting the 1UP mushroom in 1-2

1-2: Hidden bricks (9C?) show up as ? blocks

3-1: One of the pillars at the end drops straight down and a 1UP sound effect is heard, after which it gets stuck into the pillar

Update: After retrying, I found out that it was a glitch in bgb after reading savestate, I'm not sure exactly why, at the moment I think it's a issue on the emulator side.

Update again: it's not a bgb issue either, I'm updating the correct version of bgb and savestate is functioning fine. Very sorry about that.

Any chance of a .pocket export to try out on Analogue Pocket? Thanks

(+1)

you can play .gb files on Analogue Pocket too though if you install a core that plays them

https://retropatcher.jonabrams.com/

Excellent stuff Ben 💪 I didn't know this existed. I hope all is good with you

Happy to help! I don't even have a pocket but I remembered seeing this online so now needing a pocket file is kind of a solved issue. I never liked having to export a separate proprietary format for a gameboy game because roms are such a nice clean universal format. It was like needing a different power cord in every country you go to.

Unfortunately to my knowledge that patcher only works for games that have had patches hand-made for each game, so it's not able to patch games that aren't on it's list.

The fact that it covers more than a thousand games is due, among other contributors, to how absurdly prolific JoseJX was at making patches (~1184).

Oh damn, guess I have to keep exporting pocket files then...

(+1)

Don't tell me you still play pocket files although there's openFPGA, especially with budude's GBC core.

(-1)

In my work as a games journalist I have to use hardware and software for its legitimate intended purpose. So unfortunately no hacking of my devices

(+2)

using openFPGA is not hacking.

(+1)

.pocket files run through a core, the same as ones you can install to play .gb files. Unless you're acquiring licensed ROMs through unofficial means, there is nothing illegitimate about them.

(+1)

YO I literally had the same idea a while ago huge props to you for sticking through it and fully completing this!

(+1)

this is really amazing; well done

(+1)

Amazing work!!!...
